As you can see from the chart above that like most fields, in criminal justice you are rewarded with higher paying  jobs depending upon the amount and type of criminal justice education you have obtained.  Some people are able to advance to high levels in local government or even federal government without a degree in criminal justice, but it is rare.  We recommend that you research the specific criminal justice job you are interested in and then figure out what the most appropriate degree is for you to reach your career goals.
