Criminal Justice Scholarships

We are constantly trying to find good scholarships for students going into a criminal justice career.  We have a short list of some listed below.  Don’t forget to visit our finance page to find more.

StraightForward Media Law Enforcement Scholarship – This is a $500 scholarship that is only available to students pursuing a career in law enforcement.  You can find out more information here: here

R.C. Hentges Scholarship – This is another $500 scholarship for criminal justice students pursuing fire service, legal, insurance investigation, or law enforcement.  You can find out all the details here.

Correctional Association of Massachusetts (CAM) Scholarship – This $500 scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Criminal Justice or a very closely related field.  You can find out more about the program by going to the CAM website.

Monster Scholarship for Government & Public Service -  This truly is a monster scholarship as they are awarding $2500 for students that are majoring or intend to major in government or public service.  This has an essay requirement and you can go to their website for more information.

Alphonso Deal Scholarship Award – The amount of this scholarship varies and it is only available to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a two year college to study law enforcement or a related field.  In order to get the details you need to go to the sponsor’s site.

David E. Whitmire Scholarship Fund – This is our final $500 scholarship for this article and it is available to juniors, seniors, and graduate students with majors in criminal justice, criminology, police science, police administration, or a related field.  To find out more you can go to the David Whitemire website.

Outstanding College Scholarships

Everyone looking to attend an online college could surely use a scholarship to fund their education. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to find good scholarships to apply for. We have searched the Internet and found ten really great scholarship opportunities to tell you about. If you know anyone thinking about going to college, we highly recommend that you share this information with them:

1. 2Futuro This is a great scholarship opportunity where $1,000 is awarded every month. You need to register online to be included in the candidate pool. You can fill out an application here.
2. USA Funds This is a $1,500 scholarship that is awarded to students that have clearly demonstrated their economic need. It’s a nonprofit organization which is trying hard to make education accessible to everyone. You can fill out an application here.
3. American Dream Scholarship This is a $500 to $5,000 scholarship that is a joint effort with the United Negro College Fund and Sallie Mae, this program is open to African Americans with financial need. You can find out more about this scholarship here.
4. Community College Transfer This is a joint effort between Sallie Mae and the Hispanic College Fund. This scholarship is awarded to Latino students that demonstrate financial need. You can fill out an application here.
5. Unmet Need Program This is a $1,000 to $3,800 scholarship that is awarded to any U.S. citizen that demonstrates financial need. You can find out more about this scholarship here.
6. 911 Education Fund This is a $2,500 scholarship that is awarded to family members of victims of the 9/11 bombings of the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and related crashes. You can find out more about this program here.
7. Brandon Teachers This scholarship was established in 1999 to offer future teachers and others pursuing careers in the file of education some assistance to allow them to afford college. This is only available in certain areas of the country you can get more details here.
8. Writers of Passage This is a $5,000 scholarship that is characterized as an essay competition. As you can imagine, it takes a great entry to win this large scholarship but it’s well worth the effort. You can get entry guidelines here.
9. First in Family This is a $500 to $5,000 scholarship that is another joint effort between Sallie Mae and the Hispanic College Fund. Again, this is directed at Latino students who are the first in their family to go to college. You can see if you qualify here.
10. AXA Achievement This is a $10,000 scholarship opportunity with only one winner per State. Again, this is for outstanding achievements (community service or other). You can get more information here.
